| In our country literacy rate is low. Actionaid Pakistan (AAPK) is working in those areas that are not developed and people there are illiterate. Every year AAPK opens literacy schools for disadvantaged communities of Pakistan.
Azaan Foundation Trust (AFT) and Actionaid Pakistan has established adult literacy centers in Rahimyar Khan. |

| Razia is one of those students who get education from adult literacy center. She lives in union council 45/P in village 115/1-L in the district of Rahimyar Khan. She has 6 siblings. Three of them are elder and married. Her father is a farmer. About her experience of education she expressed, “I belong to a poor family. My
parents are not educated so they give no importance to education. That is why my elder brother and sisters are not educated. Another reason is that we can’t afford the expenses of education. But inspite of all this I am eager to learn. When Azaan Literacy Program and Actionaid Pakistan opened literacy center in our village I was so happy that I got the chance for education. I studied in literacy center for 3 months. At the end of this course I was so excited that now I can read and write Urdu. Our teacher taught us very well and method of teaching was easy to learn. Our syllabus was easy to understand and we picked it without any difficulty. Now I can read storybooks of my own choice. After completing this course I take admission in primary school. Now I am in 4th class. I am thankful to Azaan Literacy Movement and Actionaid for providing this opportunity.” |

| Furthermore she said “Now my two younger brothers are going to school. This change in my family is occurred when I completed 3 months literacy school period and they showed their interest because they want to read and write like me. I would like to thank Actionaid Pakistan in making me literate and to create awareness about education”. |
