| ALP-ACTIONAID Pakistan Literacy Project | |

| Agreed in December 2005, this was one year Accelerated Primary program of Azaan Foundation Trust (AFT) under its Azaan Literacy Program (ALP). This was operated in Rahimyar Khan by Actionaid Pakistan. The bifurcation of the time duration of this program was to teach Urdu in first 3 months, English in next 4 months and primary level literacy will be taught in last 5 months. AFT was responsible for the transfer of the whole conceptual, methodological and practical literacy system to Actionaid Pakistan. The literacy system means teachers training, monitoring and master trainers training. After the completion of this project learners will be able to appear in primary examination. This was concluded successfully in December 2006 and as Actionaid staff was trained by AFT; therefore, it has now started this program at its own in different districts of Pakistan. | |

| National Rural Support Program NRSP signed an agreement to open adult literacy centers in Rahimyar Khan. This project was signed in November 2007. NRSP is already involved in certain projects such as Micro Credit Schemes in Rahimyar Khan. | |
| AFT was given target to establish and operate 50 adult literacy centers and provide literacy to 1500 learners. Initially, 53 centers were launched while 53 teachers were trained. | |
