| AFT entered into a partnership with (BEFARe)GTZ under which the Union Council (UC) Councillors were supposed to be given literacy in Peshawar Mardan, Abbottabad and Chakwal. Basic literacy is a prime programme of (BEFARe)GTZ. According to the MOU signed, AFT was responsible to provide Azaan adult literacy books to (BEFARe)GTZ and training to the master trainers. Under this programme training was provided to 752 female councillors and literacy courses were taught to 526 illiterate female councillors. This project was started in
October 2005 and was successfully going on for one and a half year. This was completed in the mid of 2006. |
